Dog Shelter Work
I love dogs. For a while I was volunteering at the Trenton Animal Shelter. (Haven’t been able to go back since my last dog passed). While there, I was helping with photographing the dogs for the dog-adoption websites. Some were just a silhouette of the dog on a blue or pink background, but every now & then, I’d produce something a little more involved, in the hopes of getting the dog noticed on PetFinder and ultimately adopted.

A takeoff from the lyrics of Holy Night
This handsome pup was named “Colonel” & since he was mustard-colored, I did a takeoff from the game Clue, which had a character named “Colonel Mustard”. He’s also the dog with me, in the triptych at the top of this page…We had an immediate connection.

When I photographed the dogs, I’d sit in a low beach chair, to get a better angle. After playing with this 100lb. Pit-Mastiff mix for only a few minutes, he crawled right up into my lap. These dogs have a bad rap, thanks to how some humans train them. But their true nature is one of the sweetest breeds!
